OUR CHURCH

Grace Anglican Church is a community of people in the growing south-west of Sydney, who delight in God’s grace to us in Jesus – his undeserved generosity and kindness.

We love to trust and follow Jesus, to learn from his word, the Bible, as we gather together each Sunday at two different times and locations:

  • 9:30am at Gledswood Hills Public School.
  • 6:00pm at our Church Hub in Smeaton Grange. 

We also host various kids, youth, and adult activities throughout the week. Whether you are new to the area or have been here a while, whatever your background, you are very welcome to join us.

OUR HISTORY

2002

Grace Anglican Church, then called Harrington Park Anglican Church, started in 2002 as a church plant from Narellan Anglican Church, meeting in Harrington Park Public School with a core team of about 20 people – many of whom are still part of our church family today. This included Jono – our Senior Pastor, and Mel – our previous Children’s Ministry Leader. Since that time, our church has grown to now include over 350 members across two congregations.

2006

We joined together with Rossmore Anglican Church and became our own Parish as part of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. During the following years, we focussed particularly on children's ministry, under the leadership of Mel Gillies, and saw steady growth as the area developed and the population grew.

2012

Gavin Oram and his family joined the staff team full-time. Gav led our youth and young adults ministry, including our evening church which also met at Harrington Park Public School.

2015

In response to the rapidly growing population in the new and surrounding suburbs, Gregory Hills Anglican Church began. For this to happen, Ben Pakula joined the staff full-time as our youth and young adults pastor, enabling Gav to lead a team to plant Gregory Hills Anglican Church.

This coincided with us acquiring an industrial unit in Smeaton Grange that we call the Church Hub. This provided us with a venue for mid-week events, office space and an initial home for Gregory Hills Anglican.

2016

Our Sunday night church was moved to the Hub and relaunched as Night Church at the Hub.

2020

At the beginning of 2020, Kate Dingwall joined the staff team as the Children’s Ministry Team Leader – a new role with a parish-wide focus.

Between 22 March and 26 July 2020, “CVAC Online” happened. This is was how we did church as a parish for 20 weeks throughout the COVID19 lockdown season. On the 2nd of August, we recommenced church gatherings!

Gregory Hills Anglican Church moved into its mission field, beginning to meet at Gledswood Hills Public School.

2021

In March of 2021, Camden Valley Anglican Churches became Grace Anglican Churches. Harrington Park Anglican Church became Grace Anglican Church, Harrington Park. Gregory Hills Anglican Church became Grace Anglican Church, Gledswood Hills. Night Church at the Hub became Grace Anglican Church at Night.

2023

In June 2023, the Sydney Anglican Diocese purchased a block of land in Catherine Field to provide a permanent base for our church's ministry to the Camden Valley area. 

2025

In light of the future ministry centre in Catherine Filed, we realigned our ministry in February 2025 to combine and relaunch our two morning congregations as one, meeting in Gledswood Hills Public School.

We also restructured our staffing responsibilities to align with our five-fold ministry strategy, and shifted from operating as three somewhat independent churches in three different locations, to operate as one church, led by one staff team, to be based at the one future church property in Catherine Field.

2026

In partnership with other churches and organisations, we are planning to plant a new church in Austral, 15 minutes north of our current church, starting in 2027.

Austral has grown to 20,000 people in recent years and is expected to grow to more than 75,000 in the coming years.

Mick Bullen will lead the church plant, having joined our team in 2025 for a Church Planting Residency.
